What information is required by law on a guest-house / B&B registration card?

by law?

I don't think you are required to give/get anything more then a name so YOU know what to call your visitor. What information is required by law on a guest-house / B%26amp;B registration card?
First, I need to make a definition, an Alien:

';An Alien is a person from outside the United Kingdom of England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the County of North Berwick';.

Now you know that (Courtesy of my Dictionary), I can answer your Q.

A Non-alien need only fill in a name, that need not be the real name. There is no obligation to complete your address, Telephone Number, or any further information.

An Alien must fill in Home address, Country of residence, next destination, and how long they are staying.

However, Its different if you are giving a credit card to secure your hotel account. In that instance, the cardholder must provide The billing address address, a contact number, and the cardholders signature.

Vehichle details are optional but advisable as then they can recognise if your vehichle suffers damage etc. The fact that a hotel is willing to raise such things to your attention does not make the hotel liable for such things, nor does it state that a Hotel/ Guest house needs to.
