Prices vary a lot in Venice depending on exactly when you're here and what's going on. I stayed in a 4 star just off Piazza San Marco the first weekend of Carnevale for 150 euro per night. The next weekend, the same room was 400 euro per night. One weekend later after Carnevale had ended, the price was 80 euro. Right now it's 110 euro per night ($148).

You can use the above site for looking for other options. Venice is easily walkable or you can get day passes (or longer) for the vaporetto to get around. Any of the areas in Venice are reasonable places to stay.Looking for a great 3 star hotel, B%26amp;B or guest house in Venice Italy?

This is where we stay. It's no more than 5 mins walk fro Piazza San Marco. Venice is wonderful at this time of year. I only came home from there this Thursday!

Last summer, my boyfriend stayed a great B%26amp;B in Venice. It's the Casa Mimma Bed %26amp; Breakfast, and is a very short walk from the Venezia Mestre Train station.

It's about 鈧?120/night for a double bed.
The best thing about this B%26amp;B was the amazing (and free) cappuccinos and espressos in the morning. We went in late May so could sit outside on the garden terrace. The staff was great, but we had to practice our Italian with them, which was good.
After getting off the train, we walked 10 minutes, luggage in tow, to the B%26amp;B. Make sure you take a map with you- getting lost in Venice is very easy to do with all the side streets. However, the B%26amp;B is really easy to find after entering a Harry Potter crook in the wall. It's located in a quite square and is close enough to the water ferry stop so you can access anything.
It doesn't have a view of the Grand Canal, but for the price, you wouldn't expect it. It's one of our favourite places to stay in Italy now, and will definitely visit the B%26amp;B again!
We stayed at the Londra Palace. It was wonderful! The junior suite had a balcony that overlooked the city. (we had 2 kids with us under the age of 4, so needed a larger room that would accommodate 2 cribs) Don't know how much the regular rooms run. Sorry.

Ps - it will definitely be worth your while to either get a Frommer's guide or a DK Eyewitness guide for the city. ;) Maybe you can just borrow one at a library and take notes as needed if you don't think it will be used after this trip. Or, you can get them used online for less.
its much cheaper if you stay at cavallino or punte sabbione..and take a ship to venice, which takes 15 - 20 min. we live here in italy and know the place very well. you can pay much less than 150 per night. for that price you can get a really nice bungalow around cavallino. check online for jesolo or cavallino or even punte sabbione. there are so many places which are really nice. you will easily find them knowing the names of the places.
I have been there but stayed in a hotel out of Venice, in a city close named Mestre. much cheaper and transportation to Venice is really easy. I would recommend you don;t going during the summer. Venice gets so crowded. I've been there in June, and it was too many people for my taste...
