I want to find a really nice place with traditional bed and breakfast in Keswick but don't know where to start. Any suggestions?Where can I find a good guest house in Keswick?
Depends when you're going. At a quiet time of year it would probably be easiest not to book anywhere and just find somewhere when you arrive. That way you can look at the room before agreeing anything, and haggle on price. There'll be plenty to choose from.
At busier times of the year (easter, school holidays, all of summer) you should definitely book ahead. Most of the places will be of similar quality, except maybe the really cheap ones. A good money saving tip is to look at a map of the town and focus on B %26amp; Bs near to, but just off, the main roads and centre. They're normally just as nice, but cheaper. You pay a premium for location otherwise.
Generally I'd say simply Google 'bed and breakfasts in keswick' and check out a few websites, paying attention to the room photos in particular. Otherwise, tripadvisor is normally a good guide:

Much as it pains me to say it, my ex employers owned the Kings Arms, it's on the main street, just to the left of the Moot hall if you're facing in the direction of the co-op, it is the Same people who own the Skiddaw, but is reasonably priced and they do a full English.
I understand the Queens hotel, which is just opposite the two hotels above, is also reasonable and do very nice food.
If it is a B%26amp;B you are after, the world is your oyster, and as competition is high for B%26amp;B's at Keswick prices are great! The Brierholme Guest House is only 100 yards from the town centre and bed and breakfast is from only 拢26.00 which is pretty marvellous for Keswick.
If you want something more picturesque and don't mind being out of town slightly, why not plump for the likes of Woodside on the Penrith Road, not far of the A66 from 拢32/37.50 depending on the room etc.
Lots of others are very picturesque and can be found on:

If money is no object, you could go to the Skiddaw which is next door to the Kings Arms, but the Derwentwater hotel has a glorious setting and a large conservatory so that foul weather will not ruin your enjoyment of the view. OR, my ex employers also owned the Armathwaite Hall, which is on Bassenthwaite lake, now that's posh for you, spa, own grounds, swimming pool, beauty salon and all that and a glorious breakfast, however, not cheap!
I hope you enjoy your stay, Keswick has a large Leisure Centre, an ex railway track you can follow for miles, a beautiful view with a body of water and you can get ferry boats across it. (Derwentwater), Bassenthwaite which is still in Keswick is the ';only lake in the Lake District'; as all the others are Meres and Waters. You can also get a cracking cream tea in most places, I'm quite sure it's not traditional, but what do you care? You'll have scones, cream and more jam than you can shake a stick at.
